Alyeska Pipeline Project Photos
Tony Berejka recently submitted a collection of Alyeska Pipeline Photos for our enjoyment along with the following inside account of the project:
"...I had a unique advantage in dealing with that pipeline. While in the employ of Esso Research, for whom I had worked just before joining Raychem, I had seen internal company reports on long term studies of corrosion protection materials. I also saw some of the first sketches of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline company and knew how coating decisions were being made. Besides Stan, Walt and Jim Thompson and Wayne Scharr, two significant early contributors to the project were Wells Whitney and Van Canady. Van and I personally made "Arcticlad I" on a Saturday afternoon in the process lab. After Van left Raychem, we completed "Arcticlad II" which is what is on the pipeline." -- Tony Berejka.
